The Florida Youth Soccer Association offers several different courses for youth soccer coaches. These courses are sponsored by clubs all over the state of Florida and are taught by certified instructors. The challenge is to find a course near enough to commute to and at a time that works with your personal schedule.

Youth Modules
Several different introductory six (6) hour courses exist for youth soccer coaches. These are the U6/8, U8/10 and U12 modules.
F Certificate
8 hour course is the introductory course to 11-a-side soccer of players 12 years old and up. This course also serves a preparatory course and prerequisite for the E license course.
E Certificate
This is a preparatory course for the D license. It is an excellent course for any youth soccer coach. The primary focus is on preparing training sessions for your team. The course focuses on 4 levels of progression for teaching youth soccer players. In addition, the basics of safety and team management are discussed. This is a eighteen (18) hour course normally offered over a weekend: Friday evening, all day Saturday and half a day Sunday. Students in this course should bring cleats and a ball to the classes. Much of the time will be spent on a field developing and demonstrating practice plans
D License
State license course for coaches of players 13 and over. Based on test results, the coach is either given a state D registration or a national D registration.
Goalkeeping
Levels I, II and III are available. Each course is about six (6) to eight (8) hours.

There are national and state-sponsored higher level courses. Check out US Soccer for more information.
