What is 3v3?
3v3 means three players versus three players. This is a small-sided version of soccer played on a small field with each team having only 3 players on the field at a time. There are no goal keepers and instead of throw-ins, the players simply put the ball back into play with a kick-in. Each goal is guarded by a goal 'arc' - an area meant to discourage guarding the goal (goal tending).
Why play 3v3?
3v3 is an awesome format that focuses on individual skills and the interaction between players in a close proximity. The format increases the number of 'ball touches' each player receives. This is the critical factor which helps players develop and makes this small-sided game so important for player development.
When is the 3v3 season?
The Rockledge Soccer Club 3v3 season starts January 6, 2007 and and continues for a total of 6 weekends. U7 and above teams will play two games every Saturday for a total of 12 games. U5 and U6 will play one game every Saturday for a total of 6 games.
