UPDATE:Coach Meeting (updated February 27, 2007)

We will be having a coaches meeting this Thursday 3/1/07 at Rockledge Park (this is off Barton on Cogswell) at 6:00pm. At this meeting we will be:

signing up for concession stand duty
receiving game rosters
signing up for practice fields
getting uniforms
getting referee checks

Spring 2007 Registration (posted January 15, 2007)

Registration for the Spring 2007 season of soccer will begin Monday, January 15th, 2007. We will continue to offer complete online registration though our CountMeIn system. College Showcase Soccer Clinic (posted December 14, 2006)

DC Cup 2006 (posted October 11, 2006)

The application deadline for the 2006 District Commisioner's Cup is Friday, November 3rd. The DC Cup is a tournament for our area's recreational teams. Recreational teams are encouraged to consider playing in the tournament. Click here for more information.

E Certificate Coaching Course (updated August 8, 2006)

The Rockledge Soccer Club is offering an E Certificate coaching course from August 11th through August 13th. Download a flyer for the course or contact Bob Christensen via email at bob.b.christensen@lmco.com for further information.

The instructor for the course will be Bill Barker. The times and locations are as follows:

Friday (11 August) ... 6:00 - 9:00pm: Location: Fire station on the corner of Highway US1 and Barton Blvd, Rockledge. (Click here for a map)
Saturday (12 August) ... 9:00am - 5:00pm: Location: Community Park of Rockledge (directions to the field will be given out at the Friday night session)

Recreational Coach Clinic & Free Dinner(posted July 13, 2006)

The Cocoa Expo will be offering a coaching clinic at the Cocoa Expo Sports Center from July 25th to July 26th from 7:00PM-9:00PM both days. The Clinic includes 60% classroom session and 40% training/field session on the first day, and 30% classroom session and 70% training/field session the second day.

Please notice that this is a two-day clinic. Please attend both days as the sessions complement each other. On both days the Cocoa Expo provides free dinner from 6:00-7:00PM for all participating coaches.

Rockledge Soccer Club Season Openers with the Cocoa Expo(posted March 23, 2006)

The Cocoa Expo has invited the Rockledge Soccer Club to have a "club night" at their opening games for the 2006 season. The Cocoa Expos have had a men's team playing in the United Soccer League's Premier Development League (PDL) since 1996. This year, the Cocoa Expos have announced the addition of a women's team playing in the United Soccer League's W-League.

Every player gets in free. Cocoa Expo will offer half-time activities and autograph/photo sessions with the players after the games.

The Cocoa Expo is looking for volunteers to help the game day staff.

These volunteers can work each game (preferably) or pick and choose the games that fit their availability. These opportunities are open to some of the older players and any parents. After a great first weekend of 3v3 play, we are ready to begin registering players for the spring season. The spring season of soccer begins March 4th and concludes May 14th. And once again, our club is pleased to offer our members online registration.

What are the registration details?

Online registration opens January 14th and closes January 30th, 2006.
In person registration is January 21 & January 28 from 9am until 12:00pm at the Community Park of Rockledge
Recreational soccer registration fees for players returning from the fall season will be $45.
Recreational soccer registration fees for new players will be $55.
All comp registrations will be processed through the comp team coaches.

Steelers Rock the 2005 Columbus Day Weekend Tournaments (posted October 16, 2005)

The District Commisioner's Cup (DC Cup) is a FYSA sanctioned tournament specifically organized for the league's recreational teams. Rec teams, this is your tournament! The Brevard Youth Soccer League has setup a DC Cup 2005 web page. All information regarding application information, rules and tournament calendar can be found there. We just found out that one of our U13 Ladies won Kellogg's "Tips from the Pros" contest. Cortney Baker is off to soccer camp in Orlando where she'll meet Mia Hamm and Cindy Parlow. April 17, 2005 - Rockledge Soccer Club had a tremendous turnout at our picnic! Players and their families from just about every age group turned out and enjoyed the food, socializing and soccer. Thank you to everyone who helped make the picnic a great succes!

The Rockledge Soccer Club needs to fill a vacant board position. Our previous Sponsorship & Awards Coordinator Paul Villalpando had too much on his plate and needed to step down. Parents & Coaches Meeting (posted August 8, 2005)

This Saturday (August 13), the Rockledge Soccer Club will be having a meeting for all parents and coaches at the Rockledge City Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to hand out uniforms, coaches cards and schedules. We will be discussing the new roster form for this season and we'll also set aside some time for open discussion.

The meeting is divided into 3 sessions by your player's age group.

U5/6 : 9:00am - 10:00am
U7/8/9/10 : 10:30am - 11:30am
U12/14 : 12:00noon - 1:00pm

2005 Fall Registration (posted April 20, 2005)

Fall registration dates and fees have been set. Fees for recreational soccer are $79 per player and are due at registration.

Saturday, June 11th, 9am - 12noon, Community Park of Rockledge

Saturday, June 18th, 9am - 12noon, Community Park of Rockledge

Final Registration

The final day of registration for the Fall season will be Saturday, July 16th from 9am - 12noon at the Community Park of Rockledge.

Fees for competition soccer are $89 per player and are due at the time the team is chosen by the coach(es). If a player is not chosen for the competition team, the player can then register for recreational soccer.

Competition players will have additional uniform expenses and other expenses for training and tournaments. Please read the competiton soccer section of our Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.) web page for further information about competition soccer expenses and how fundraising can reduce these additional costs.

BYSL Fun Day Coaching Clinics (posted May 11, 2005)

Cocoa Expo will be presenting two coaching clinics during the BYSL Fun Day this weekend (May 14, 2005). Coach Udo Schenatzky will discuss the role of the modern goal keeper and Coach Gerry Queen will discuss player movement and support. For more information, download BYSL Fun Day Coaching Clinics.

Soccer Day at Wet 'n Wild (posted April 29, 2005)

On May 22nd, Wet & Wild will have their annual soccer day where the park closes to the public at 6pm and remains open for several more hours for soccer players and their families only. The U-12 girls comp team is selling tickets for this event. Tickets will be $20 each. Ticket sale dates will be announced soon. BYSL Fun Day (posted April 24, 2005)

On May 14 at the Cocoa Expo Sports Center, the Brevayd Youth Soccer League will be sponsoring a soccer party as a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America. We'd like to have as many Rockledge Steelers as possible attend and make this another STEELERS EVENT. Events include a penalty kick contest, races, juggling contests, coaching clinics and much more. New Board Elected

At our March board meeting held 3/15/2005, a new board was elected for the Fall 2005/Spring 2006 season. In addition, four new board positions have been added to the club.
