With the wins the Steelers claimed a share of the Spring Title with the Ormond Beach Waves, both teams had identical 5 win, 0 loss and 3 tie records. The Steelers and Waves played to a 1-1 tie in their only meeting of the spring. The GCF Select League consisted of teams from Gainesville, Ormond Beach, Ocala, CFU, Florida Rush and Rockledge. Erik has worked as a goalkeeper trainer for many years and we are fortunate to have him working with our goalkeepers. The club feels goalkeeping is a priority and club goalkeeper training will raise the level of play for all teams. Erik is currently a member of the NSCAA Instructional Staff and teaches goalkeeper courses across the state. He also has both his USSF C and National Youth Licenses. He is currently the head Coach for Titusville High. The defensive minded Steelers (ROC331) led the league with an outstanding 8 wins, 0 losses and 2 draws while only allowing 3 goals all season, clean sheets were provided in 8 of the 10 contests. The offense was well balanced with 11 players finding the back of the net. Calhoun played competitive soccer for the Rockledge Steelers from U13 through U18. Calhoun is a freshman at Palm Beach Atlantic University and just finished her first season playing for the Sailfish. The U.S. Under-14 Boys National Development Program, led by Manny Schellscheidt, is in the midst of its annual identification camp as 118 players have descended on Concord, Mass. for seven days of training and evaluation.

U.S. U-20 Men's National Team Falls to Australia in Rosario, Argentina

The U-20 Men’s National Team wrapped up its final training camp before the FIFA U-20 World Cup with a second-place finish at the Copa Cuidad de Rosario in Argentina. With a 3-1 loss to close out the round-robin tournament, Thomas Rongen’s side finished in second place behind local club CA Tiro Federal and ahead of third-place Australia and fourth-place finisher Uruguay.

U-18 MNT Wins Shootout to Take Fifth Place at Milk Cup

The U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team took fifth place at the prestigious Milk Cup with an eight-round shootout win against Israel, after a 1-1 draw, in the placement match on July 31. The team left Northern Ireland with two draws, the other coming against Germany in group play, and one loss to Denmark in the opening match. Germany earned third place in the tournament with a 5-0 drubbing of Belgium in their placement match and host Northern Ireland took home the trophy with a 2-0 win against Denmark in the final.
