The U13 RSC competitive girls team finished the 2012-2013 year as Champions of their BYSL division. It’s been an incredible journey for these girls. After finishing the Fall 2012 season at the bottom of the division, the team prepared for Region Cup and played their hearts out while bonding as a team through that experience. The team went onto regular season play and finished undefeated. With their Spring 2013 record, they were invited to participate in the BYSL 2012-2013 Competitive Championships. The first playoff game went to double overtime and RSC U13 girls fought for a 2-1 win over Port St. Lucie. In the championship game the girls once again demonstrated their skilled, confident teamwork to win 2-1 against South Brevard FC. With the guidance of coach Bill Cullen and trainer Eddie Al Shihabi the team went from the bottom to the top in 8 months, through this journey these girls have learned the importance of teamwork, trusting each other both on and off the field.

Rockledge Soccer Club is hosting a referee course to be held at the Crossing River Sports Club (525 Gus Hipp Blvd., Rockledge). Dates and times are:

-March 22nd from 7-9pm
-March 23rd from 1-5pm
-March 24th from 1-5pm

First Touch Soccer starts Friday, March 8th and is now hosted at the Crossing River Sports Club (555 Gus Hipp Blvd., Rockledge). Participants can choose from 1 of 3 weekely sessions:

- Fridays from 6:00p to 6:45p
- Saturdays from 8:15a to 9:00a
- Saturdays from 9:15a to 10:00a

RSC 95 Girls Black won the Brevard Winter Classic in Merritt Island on January 26 and 27. The team’s defending was stellar throughout the weekend, conceding 0 goals in 4 games, effectively shutting down all opponents. In the Championship match, the team defeated CBS in penalty kicks after a hard fought draw through regulation play and two overtime periods. Coaches Matt Barber, Ashlie Haas, and Clint Knott would like to thank the players for their intensity all weekend! Well done: Hannah Baker, Kim Barber, Sarah Barnao, Tori Clark, Karen Clifford, Amanda Corbin, Eileen Cullen, Alicia Drumheller, Alexis Greenstein, Alexa Henn, Lindsay Hile, Laura Knott, Stephanie McDonough, Tia Noble, Siulmarie Vazquez, and Kylie Young!

Rockledge Soccer Club congratulates Bill Buren as the recipient of the 2012 Dr. Thomas Fleck Award. We would also like to extend our deepest felt "Thank You" for sharing your coaching knowledge and love for the game with our coaches and players.

US Youth Soccer Excellence in Youth Coaching Education Award, "The Dr. Thomas Fleck Award" was designed to honor a lifetime of dedication where one has with integrity, honor, humor and humility made extensive and far reaching contributions to the process by which youth soccer coaches are educated in America.

Our team is a group of energetic, very competitive and positive girls that love soccer. The coaches are very supportive and love sharing sharing their knowledge. All players U16 - U17 welcome; we have a special interest in Goalkeepers.

2012/13 Coaching Slate Posted
Tryouts for our 2012/13 select teams will be held at the Community Park of Rockledge (398 Gus Hipp Blvd) starting Tuesday, May 29th as follows:

The RSC board of directors will hold our annual elections on Tuesday, April 17th at JD's Sports Bar and Grille (1644 S. Fiske Blvd, Rockledge, FL 32955). The meeting will begin at 7pm. All positions are open. Current vacant positions include: webmaster, discipline chairman, scheduler, field manager and sponsorship & awards coordinator. On Wednesday, March 21st, the UNOs in Melbourne is hosting a fundraiser for the Rockledge Soccer Club. Please join us at UNOs for lunch or dinner. Up to 20% of your bill will be donated back to the club! UNOs is located at 8260 North Wickham Road, Melbourne.

On the 2nd Friday of every month, Melbourne has an event called "Downtown Friday Fest" centered around Meg O'Malley's (812 East New Haven Ave, Melbourne). Starting this Friday (March 9th), your board of directors is working the Budweiser booth as a fund-raiser for the club.

Please come see us! We'd love to see some familiar faces! The event runs 6p - 10p. There are nearby activities for children too!
