Rockledge U-12 Girls conclude 8v8 careers, taste the big field for first time....

The 96/97 Rockledge Girls U-12 team recently concluded their careers on the 8v8 field with 3rd place finish at the BYSL comp playoffs on May 17th. Four evenly skilled teams participated and all games were decided by one goal. The Steelers lost a tough fought first game 0-1 to the Indian River Vipers, who would later lose to Melbourne Beach in the championship on penalty kicks after a scoreless regulation. The Steelers faced an old rival in the 3rd place game going up against Megu Fusion. After giving up an early goal, the Steelers charged back to take a 2-1 victory and capture the 3rd Place trophy.

The U10 Rockledge Steelers Black Team took 3rd place at this year’s BYSL Comp. Playoffs which were held in Vero Beach on May 16th, 2009. The U10 Steelers Black team players were Mathew Austin, Alex Darvas, Zachary Gilbert, J.J. Bryant, Evan Hasbrouck, Pryce Jennings, Olivia Simmons, Ryan Stofflet, and Christian Yates. They were coached by Keith Gilbert, Tina Stofflet, and Matt Yates. Way to go Steelers!!!

U13s are Spring Challenge Champions

The Steelers U13s kept a clean net all weekend scoring 8 goals while not giving up a single goal. Well done team!

U15 Girls Place 2nd at Spring Challenge

U10 Rockledge Steelers Take 2nd Place at Ormond Beach Challenge

The U10 Rockledge Steelers Black Team took 2nd place at January’s Ormond Beach Challenge. The Steelers finished the tournament with 2 wins and 2 losses. The Steelers defeated the Infinity Soccer Club 3-1, Tsunami Rip Curl 6-0, and after a hard fought game fell to Apollo 2-4. The U10 Steelers Black team players are Mathew Austin, Alex Darvas, Zachary Gilbert, J.J. Bryant, Evan Hasbrouck, Pryce Jennings, Olivia Simmons, Ryan Stofflet, Christian Yates, and Jared Zayas. They are coached by Keith Gilbert, Tina Stofflet, and Matt Yates.

Steelers '96/97 Girls Black Win 17th Annual Largo United Halloween Tournament

Some said it was the skull and crossbones socks. Some said it was the rubbing of Bri's father's (Jason's) head. Coach Allen Lucas and Coach Kevin Brewster said it was the desire to win. Perhaps a combination of all of these helped the Rockledge U-12 Lady Steelers come away the winners at the 17th Annual Largo Soccer Halloween Tournament the weekend of October 25th. The girls ended the weekend undefeated in the 4 games of the tournament.

The Rockledge Steelers 93/94 Black under-15 girls took the top under-15 division championship at the 10th annual Melbourne Area Beaches Girls Labor Day Challenge. The best part of the whole weekend was experiencing the talent, heart and spirit of this team.

Rockledge Steelers '96/97 Ladies Win Tournament

There’s an old saying that offense wins games, but defense wins Championships. That proved to be true as the ’96 Rockledge Steelers U-11 Girls used a swarming defense and great goal keeping to win their first tournament as a team. The title earned the young Steelers an automatic bid to the USSSA National Championship Tournament to be played in Las Vegas, December 5-7, 2008.

Every year, the Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) region/district B5 organizes a "District Commissioner's Cup" or simply a DC Cup for all of the recreational teams in the district. Normally held at the end of the fall season, this year's DC Cup will be held at the end of the 2008 spring season.

The Rockledge Steelers U10 Coed Team won the National Division of the Brevard Fall Challenge over the weekend of October 6th and 7th. The Steelers had a great tournament with a record of 3-1-0. The awesome Steelers team are Gavin Spinneweber, Brianna Jamgochian, Matthew Austin, Steven Saunders, Jackson Parker, Zac Mundine, Anthony Thompson, Marc Burrier, Trey Figueroa, Justin Robedeau, and Zane Hatfield, coached by Mike Spinneweber and Juan Figueroa. Awesome job Steelers!!!

National Division U10 Results

The Rockledge U10 Steelers won the 2007 Nations Cup played at Cocoa Expo this past weekend. The Steelers were very patient during rain delays then played hard in the rain.

May 20, 2007 -- The Steelers under-13 coed team coached by Vladimir Campo and Ben Ross win the Brevard Youth Soccer League (BYSL) Competitive Division championship. Congratulations team!

The Rockledge Steelers rising under-14 ladies took second place at Disney’s Memorial Day Soccer Shootout IX. Playing in the U13 club division, the Steelers won two and lost one game during group play. The championship game went into overtime and was decided with PKs.

Congratualtions to the rising U16 Steelers for taking second place at the 29th Annual Seminole Memorial Soccer Tournament. Tryouts continue for this team. For further information, please contact Paul Villalpando at 504-7225 or via email at mindypaulv@yahoo.com.
